West Warrior/Club match selection.

June 4, 2013

A player selected for a Western Warrior fixture in the afternoon, is not allowed to play a club game in the morning.

The West Area, and the Sussex Cricket Board take very seriously their responsibilities for the welfare of junior players, and indeed stipulate in the Area Cricket guidance that boys should not participate in other sporting activities on the same day as representative matches.

The reasons behind this are derived from the ECB Directives for Young Cricketers intended to ensure that youngsters are not over exerted, and is why there are restrictions on the number of overs a child may bowl etc., in any given period. We can circulate these Directives if anyone would like a copy.

The length of area matches are a minimum 70 overs, we need all players to be fit and able to perform to the best of their ability. (LTAD).

Thank you for your support.

Head Coach
